We are thrilled to announce we have made an offer to Rev. Dana Lightsey, and she has accepted the role of UUCB’s Acting Assistant Minister.
This is a two year ministry with the potential to become long-term.
During the first year, she will focus on lifespan faith formation for all ages, working with our Strategic Initiatives Committee to:
examine current programs at our and other churches
evaluate these programs for relevancy, vibrancy, and overall effectiveness
make recommendations to our Board of Trustees for comprehensive new programming at UUCB to be implemented the following church year.

All of those involved in this process have been impressed by Rev. Dana’s thoughtfulness, warmth, vitality and creativity. Her skills and past experience fulfill what we were looking for!
She served as the Director of Religious Education at Jefferson Unitarian Church.
She has a Masters in Music Education
For 17 years, she taught band, choir and general music, K-12, in the public schools
She is certified to teach Gifted and Talented children and youth and has developed innovative programs to engage.
At the UU Church of Cheyenne, she served as an Interim Minister, helping them transition to the next phase of their ministry and leading the organizational change necessary to do so.
Most recently, she has been the Developmental Minister at High Plains UU Church in Colorado Springs.
She earned a Masters of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology and has been ordained as a UU Minister for over nine years.

Dana will begin working with us full-time starting August 1. You will have the opportunity to welcome her formally during a worship service in August.
