Please join us for the second “common read” of The Third Reconstruction by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove. The Unitarian Universalist congregations of the Front Range community have selected this book for a combined read, intended to deepen our understanding of racial justice in America today. Beacon Press explains the premise of the book: The first Reconstruction briefly flourished after Emancipation, and the second Reconstruction ushered in meaningful progress in the civil rights era….The (contemporary) Third Reconstruction is a profoundly moral awakening of justice-loving people united in a fusion coalition powerful enough to reclaim the possibility of democracy – even in the face of corporate financed extremism.” On Tuesday, June 20th, 7:00-9:00 pm we will be discussing the Second Reconstruction. Feel free to join in even if you missed the discussion on the First Reconstruction. Then on July 22nd, we will gather will other UU churches to discuss the Third Reconstruction. Hope you can join us for these last two sessions. Sign up:
