Vote UUCB! – A Blog Post by Scharmin Dorostkar

Did you receive a blue booklet in the mail recently?  An old-fashioned one, with the title 2020 State Ballot Information Booklet.  In this time of melodramatic media, I like to resort to old-fashioned publications like that.  Another excellent non-partisan resource for information regarding ballot issues is Colorado League of Women Voters.
As I think about November’s election, I let Rev Jeremy’s message be my guiding light: vote according to my values, those permanent things.
What are my values?  Well certainly, among UUA’s 7 principles, one stands out right now:
The right of the conscience and the use of the democratic process with our congregations and society at large.
It calls for us to participate in the democratic process, for every one of us to cast a ballot.
In Colorado you can register to vote until 6:59pm on November 3, election day.  You can do that at any Boulder County Voter Service and Polling Centers:
1750 33rd St, Boulder, CO 80301
1376 Miners Dr, Lafayette, CO 80026
515 Coffman Street, Longmont CO
The last day to register to vote online is October 26, 2020

Let’s vote the values we deeply hold.

Always love,
