We will hold two highly-interactive Visioning sessions\, facilitated by the Rodwin Architecture team\, to prompt our thinking\, gather our ideas\, and give us concepts to respond to. \nThe Two Sessions are Different! – The February 8th session will gather community input on the expansion of the church facility. The March 8th session will summarize themes from the first one and present concepts for reaction and comment. \nYouth (middle/high school) are encouraged to participate in the full Visioning event. DESCRIPTION:The first Friday of every month\, we host an all-ages potluck community night from 6:00-8:00. For the first hour\, we eat and socialize\, and in the second hour there’s a variety of different activities like tie-dye and sparklers; a campfire singalong and s’mores; or Christmas caroling in December. No signup needed\, just bring some food to share and come on by! DESCRIPTION:For those who could not attend the in-person Visioning event on Saturday 2/8\, we will hold a shorter “virtual” Visioning session by Zoom. No RSVP required. \nThe Zoom meeting link will be shared via the weekly Messenger email and the ‘Expansion News’ email. If you wish to attend the meeting and have not received either email by Saturday 2/22\, please contact our Office Administrator\, Sam Henderson\, at office@uuchurchofboulder.org. \nIf you participated in the in-person event\, the architects ask that you do not “double up” by also participating in this event – unless you feel that your perspective did not get expressed or captured. \nWhat are your hopes for the expansion of our church home? What is important that should be included? What will create a welcoming\, inclusive space that meets the needs of this community?  During this hour\, you will share your answers to several key questions\, contribute ideas on specific topics\, and respond to a series of pictures and images to indicate which ones appeal to you. Participants can respond during the discussion and/or respond in the “chat” function. All ideas shared will be incorporated into the responses from the congregation that are being analyzed by our architects\, who will develop early sketches for the March 8th Visioning meeting.

DESCRIPTION:The Rev. Dr. Lewis McGee\, ordained a Unitarian in 1949\, was one of the first Black UU religious leaders. Preaching at the intersection of justice\, race\, and humanism\, his story suggest that to be a “free religion for all souls\,” means facing the complexity of our own history and how complicity in injustice gets disguised by “reasonable concerns.”
