She founded the first-in-the-country queer recovery residence that welcomes all genders\, Just Living Recovery\, in Lakewood. Currently\, she is recovery coach for Whitian House\, outpatient treatment center in Lakewood\, serving incarcerated folx living in community corrections.

DESCRIPTION:At the balance-point between dark and day\, we gather to bear witness to the sacred cycle of the year and ground ourselves in this all-ages\, earth-centered service. Bring a branch of fall leaves\, or fresh fall flowers\, homemade bread\, or harvest from your garden to help build our altar. \nChildren\, Youth\, and Families are also invited to our Equinox Service at 6pm. We’ll have opening activities from 6-6:30\, a ritual at 6:30 and then we’ll all enjoy some vegan soups. Bring a bread\, dessert\, or beverage to share\, and if you want something to help decorate our harvest themed altar.

Family friendly\, childcare provided. \nWe are working on reviving this affinity (age-based) group of folks who no longer identify as young adults and are not quite in the Wise Elder stage. Bring a dish to share. We’ll enjoy food and connection together and then do some work on imagining what we want out of this group. We hope this will become a monthly event that is welcoming and easy to access for all folks in this stage of life.

DESCRIPTION:The first Friday of every month\, we host an all-ages potluck community night from 6:00-8:00. For the first hour\, we eat and socialize\, and in the second hour there’s a variety of different activities like tie-dye and sparklers; a campfire singalong and s’mores; or Christmas caroling in December. No signup needed\, just bring some food to share and come on by! If you’d like to attend but don’t have time to cook\, we’ve always got extra food and would love your presence. \nFor September’s Community Night\, we’ll provide white t-shirts\, socks\, bandanas\, etc. to tie dye–but feel free to bring your own items to tie dye too. Bonus points will be given to people who wear their groovy new duds to Sunday’s service!

DESCRIPTION:The August Circle Supper will be an outdoor potluck picnic at Gunbarrel Commons Park on White Rock Circle in Gunbarrel\, sponsored by Karen Morgan and Sharon Larocque at 6 p.m. on Friday\, August 16.   Please note the date\, a Friday!  and if it should rain\, we will get together at the church.  A decision will be made by 3 that day\, so call my (Karen’s) phone at 720-938-2304 or Sharon at 303-818-3576 if you are unsure about the weather.\n\nThere are no grills so please plan accordingly.  Plates\, utensils and napkins will be provided.  There are five picnic tables\, a basketball court\, and a cute playground right there.   If you have a light weight lawn chair\, it would be good to have a few.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease let us know what you would like to bring. Karen will provide some lemonade and we can use her bathroom. Please call Karen for address information.\n\nA map will be available at the front counter at UUCB on Sunday\, August 4 and 11 as many of us will be at the church retreat on the 11th.
