Starting last spring, our Communications Team (Steve Todd, Chris Zanoni, Sam Henderson, and Rev. David) has been working with designer Emily Starks to update our logo and to overhaul our website! Our current logo and site have served us well for many years, but it’s time to update them to better reflect who we are and to meet current design and interactive expectations.
Our website is our front door for newcomers. Virtually every single person who walks through our doors has stopped at the website first to get a feel for who we are and what we’re about. The site needs to tell the story of who we are, what we’re about, and how we do it, through text, photos, and video. Secondarily, the site needs to make it easy to get involved with the 30+ small groups at UUCB, and to provide an easy, appealing calendar of events to which the whole church community is invited.
In January and February, we solicited bids from several designers and decided on Emily Starks who has done so much design work for us in the past, and who knows our community well, which would give an advantage when trying to translate that abstract “feel” into particular design choices.
Over the last several months, we’ve worked with her to provide input and guidance as she iterated possibilities for a new logo, and as the design and build work on the site began. We’re absolutely delighted with what we’ve seen so far!
And on Sunday August 20th our new site and new logo will launch! (That’s also the first Sunday of our “regular” church year with two services at 9:00 and 11:00.) Through the summer, we’ll share more about what’s behind these changes and what the process has looked like. We hope to see you on August 20th for the grand opening!
With excitement,
Your Communications Team
Steve Todd, Chris Zanoni, Sam Henderson, and Rev. David
