As most of us remember the fires a few years ago and the floods 10 years ago, we know that emergencies come without warnings!

To be prepared for the next emergency, Emergency Preparation information will be available at UUCB on the front counter. Pick up a sheet on Sunday.

A few years ago, the Caring Ministry prepared this 2-sided sheet about getting ready for an emergency, which includes assembling a “Go Bag” with items to grab when a fast evacuation is needed. The Information came from FEMA. This is the same sheet we distributed a few years ago, but even if we got the sheet then, most of us probably need to refresh our memory, and the “Go Bag” we may have prepared then no doubt needs refreshing too. 

The Caring Ministry will make a special shortened version for those living in an elder housing community. Their needs differ slightly from those living in other circumstances. Watch for it in coming weeks.

We hope we won’t have an emergency, but if we do, being prepared will make a big difference!
