CIRCLE SUPPERS We will celebrate the “Harvest Bounty” at the home of Catherine Marsh and Art Rich on Saturday, October 5 at 6 p.m. Bring a dish to share—something from your own garden, UUCB’s garden, or another local garden, if possible! Catherine and Art are transplants from New York. Art enjoys sailing, even in Colorado! They both enjoy traveling far and wide, but they especially enjoy get-aways to their Colorado mountain retreat. Art and Catherine are away now until just before the Circle Supper, so call Dianne Ewing to sign up, if you have not done so already. Her number is 303-776-0227. The address and directions to their home in Erie will be sent to those who are signed up.
In November the Circle Supper will move to the first Sunday, November 3. This is a one-time change to Sunday only for this November. World travelers and avid birders, Diana and Michael King, invite us to their home in Gunbarrel for our November “Gathering In” Circle Supper. Sign-up sheets will be available at UUCB the two Sundays before the dinner.
If you would like to host a planned pot luck dinner in your home or a park (summer time) in 2020, please contact Dianne Ewing, 303-776-0227. We have a Circle Supper on the first Saturday of each month, unless there is another UUCB event or other conflict.
THANKSGIVING AT UUCB As we have done for many decades we will have a joint Thanksgiving potluck dinner on Thanksgiving Day with the Boulder Valley UU Fellowship. It will be held at UUCB at 2 p.m. Plan to bring family, friends, out-of-towners or local, to celebrate with us. All are welcome! You only have to prepare one large dish—how much easier can Thanksgiving be? We ask everyone who attends to help as they are able with either the set up or clean up, but we also need a small group of UUCBers to oversee the event. If you’d like to help with this really joyful community event, please contact Dianne Ewing, 303-776-0227. It does not mean an extra time commitment other than attending the dinner and having a tour of the kitchen sometime in advance.
CHRISTMAS DAY AT UUCB Brunch at UUCB at 11 a.m.! For many years we have had a brunch or dinner on Christmas Day in members’ homes, but for the last two years, we have had a large turn-out for brunch at UUCB. Christmas brunch at UUCB seems to be our new tradition! It is a great time to enjoy the holiday with like-minded folks! Bring family and friends and good food to share! We need a small group of elves to assist with the brunch. No extra time required, just be there and help make things happen! If you can help, contact Dianne Ewing, 303-776-0227.
TEA HOUSES This year we have cut the Tea House gatherings from monthly to four times a year. Carol Saunders and Reed Bailey will host our next Tea House on Sunday, October 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. These events are an informal time to visit with other UUCBers just for fun. Bring finger food or a beverage to share. It is a great time to get to know others. Carol and Reed have a home with a lovely view of the mountains. They designed and did much of the work to build their house themselves. Directions to their home will be available at UUCB that day or call them for directions. They are listed in the UUCB Directory.
In December we will have our traditional Tea House and holiday sing along at the home of Diana and Michael King on the afternoon of Sunday, December 15. We will put on our holiday sweaters or other party clothes (or our everyday jeans) and take our favorite holiday treats to the Kings. We will sing around the piano or chatter in another room, enjoying the season.
If you’d like to host a tea house on a third Sunday afternoon sometime in 2020, please contact Mary Pierce, 303-360-0187.
