Update from the Capital Campaign Team
As the new church year begins, the Capital Campaign team is pleased to announce that we have brought a consultant on board to help us plan our work for the next year or more. The Board heard our proposal in June and approved the contract in July. And so….
We are pleased to say that we have hired Kay Crider, a consultant with Stewardship for Us, to be our Capital Campaign consultant. Kay knows us already, as she was here in 2019 to do the initial evaluation of our readiness to embark on a building expansion project. Her report was used as input for the SI! Committee’s work a couple of years ago.
Kay has decades of fundraising experience and has worked with numerous congregations to achieve their goals. In fact, Boulder Valley UU Fellowship contracted with her during their campaign! We spoke with members of their Capital Campaign committee who told us that Kay’s assistance was immensely valuable and helped them exceed their fundraising goals. We’re optimistic that she can do the same for us!
We had our first meeting with Kay last week and are excited to work with her. We already have homework, which we’re diligently working on. We’ll have more updates on that in the coming months.
We have also expanded the core Capital Campaign committee, adding Joseph Antone to our team! Joseph brings lots of experience, especially in project management. He also adds the perspective of a newer UUCB member, which we very much appreciate. If you see Joseph, please thank him for stepping forward!

Update from the Building Design Team
Building Design Team Mission:
The Building Design Team (BDT) was selected this year as a follow up to the Strategic Initiative Committee that delivered the “UUCB Feasibility Study 2023-10-18.” The mission of our team is to help re-envision and re-create a sacred space for our church community. We are committed to transforming our current building into a beautiful, functional, energy- wise church home, utilizing a cooperative and democratic visioning process.
What’s been going on?
The BDT is close to making a recommendation for an architectural firm. They are presenting to our Board of Directors on August 28. An architectural firm will help us both with involving our Congregation in “visioning” processes and helping us to navigate the needed processes with the City of Boulder related to annexation, historic landmarking and permitting .
What does it mean for us?
This fall we will begin more congregational involvement. We had a preview at the Church Retreat. Our target is to have a Congregational decision by May 2025..
