Poetry lovers are invited to a reading and discussion of the poetry of Andrea Gibson, (they, them) poet, activist, and queer advocate who recently died of cancer at the age of 49.
Their poetry focused on gender norms, politics, social justice, LGBTQ topics, life, and mortality. Gibson was appointed as the Poet Laureate of Colorado in 2023 by Governor Polis.
Much of their work can be found online. Be prepared to join in the discussion, listen to them recite on video, and if you want, participate by reading some of their own words. Please let Karen Morgan know what you would like to read so we don’t have duplication.
Diana Maiden will provide her homemade pie for this solemn and enlightening event.
