The UUCB Racial Justice Ministry and the Boulder County NAACP is concerned about public safety in Boulder and how the decision as to who will be it’s future permanent Police Chief will be made. The City was not forthcoming about Redfearn’s past with the Aurora Police Department and concerns have been raised with regard to his involvement in the incident that lead to Elijah McClain’s death and the police response to a subsequent violin vigil in McClain’s honor.
