A new group for older, single women started in June.  The next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 17th from 3 to 4:30 pm at UUCB.  The group will normally meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 at UUCB.

You are welcome whether you are a widow, divorced or single by choice. We each have our own unique history and story, and yet we may be dealing with similar issues. Issues such as loneliness, grief, health problems, lack of close family, financial concerns, decisions about moving, and more. This group is a place to share our challenges, as well as our successes and joys. It can also be a good place to meet new friends and build community.

It is a sharing circle group with a check-in round, a sharing round and a response round. We practice active listening (listening without reacting or commenting) during the check-in and sharing rounds, During the response time, we can share any thoughts or feelings brought up by another member’s comments. However, it is important that our comments are not an attempt to “fix” anyone or tell them what they “should” do. You can, of course share things that have worked for you. And, a sense of humor is often helpful, even when discussing difficult issues.
