Happy New Year to you all from the Capital Campaign and the Building Design Teams. Below are photos from a wonderful Appreciation party the UUCB Board gave in recognition of the hundreds of hours the two teams have put in for the Expansion Project.

Our work continues as we move through soliciting the leadership and others for funds to support the Expansion Project and our collaboration with the architects and water professionals. We will be reporting on all of that activity soon.

Save the Date! Kick-off Sunday February 1
This is the day we begin our General Fundraising Campaign to support the Annual Operating Budget and the Building Expansion Project we’ve been visioning and discussing over the past years.
The Kick-off Event will be an upbeat, fun event for the whole family! We’ll have an abbreviated service, rousing music, information, food, activities for the children. We’ll reveal with fanfare the amount of money that’s already been raised during the quiet phase of fundraising over the last months. There will be break-out rooms staffed by those in the know where you can get your questions answered about the building, progress towards resolving our water issue, and details of donating to the Campaign.
Combining the Annual Fund and a Capital Fund is a first for UUCB, but our UUA consultant, Kay Crider, assures us that this is a successful trend for UU churches across the U.S. and Canada and she strongly recommended that we follow suit.
We are also trying something new for us based on Kay’s advice. We’re visiting every member and active friend to talk about the annual fund and Building Expansion project and to ask for their support. We have followed this process in the early stages of the Campaign, and found it to be a great and enjoyable community builder!
We’ve been signing up stewards to do the visits but need more people to do this rewarding job. So please consider volunteering. A lot of folks hate to ask for money, but just remember, you’re asking for money to support our UU mission and community. It’s a feel good experience!
Kay Crider will be here to train the stewards. You can select the session that works best for you – either the morning of January 24th -or- at 1 P.M on the 25th.
These are important and exciting times for UUCB, and you are an important part of it all!
