If you participated in the in-person event, the architects ask that you do not “double up” by also participating in this event – unless you feel that your perspective did not get expressed or captured.
What are your hopes for the expansion of our church home? What is important that should be included? What will create a welcoming, inclusive space that meets the needs of this community? During this hour, you will share your answers to several key questions, contribute ideas on specific topics, and respond to a series of pictures and images to indicate which ones appeal to you. Participants can respond during the discussion and/or respond in the “chat” function. All ideas shared will be incorporated into the responses from the congregation that are being analyzed by our architects, who will develop early sketches for the March 8th Visioning meeting.
Visioning Part 2 – See and Respond to Early Design Sketches
Since our first Visioning event on February 8, the Rodwin Architecture team has been studying what we said is important. At this in-person event on Saturday March 8 from 9:00 am – Noon, they will summarize those themes and present early architectural designs for our church expansion. This meeting is our opportunity to see those ideas and react – they will listen closely to our comments.
This Visioning event will be held in the Earth Room (our worship sanctuary), facilitating large-screen presentation by the architectural team, with structured feedback opportunities. We will use microphones (listening devices available). And we will take a mid-point break! In the Sky Room, you can “design your own” building layout with cut-outs on a print of our property (take a picture and submit the idea!). Childcare will be available.
Refreshments – Snacks and beverages will be available. Please RSVP so we can plan for seating, refreshments and childcare. (Note: No need to re-register if you signed up for the March 8 session on the prior registration.)
This second Visioning event will help the architects “dial in” on what’s important to our community. They will use this further information over the next few weeks to refine and propose a design and identify anticipated costs for our renovated church building.
Come join the conversation! Participate in Visioning and contribute your ideas and hopes for our expanded facilities, to help shape the future of UUCB!
Comments Welcome!
COMMENTS welcome! If you have further ideas or suggestions for our architects, you can submit them on this Comments form: Send Comments to Rodwin.
This avenue of communication was opened during the first Visioning event and will remain open through this Visioning period. This form goes straight to the architecture team
Also, check out the bulletin board in the Sky Room labeled Expansion News. It’s another way for us to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening.
