The Racial Justice Team is supporting this film series by SURJ (Showing Up For Racial Justice). “From Here” is the third installment in Boulder SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice)’s Justice Film series.
Join us on Saturday, October 5th, 6:15-8:30pm in the Boulder Public Library! The film will be followed by discussion. We will meet at the library.
Set in Berlin and New York, “From Here” interweaves the stories of three artists and activists raised in the Global North with those of parents from the Global South. The film accompanies them as they fight for citizenship, create families, survive violence, and find creative expression, capturing their struggle to define belonging for themselves in societies increasingly hostile to their existence. The discussion after will be facilitated by Soledad Diaz, the Public Policy Director of Violence Free Colorado and a respected Boulder community activist.
