Membership Matters – April, 2022

Date

We honor members, friends, visitors

Our thoughts and good wishes continue to be with:

  • The Maloney family on the death, last month, of Elizabeth (Betty) Maloney age 99, wife of our first settled Minister, Rev. Tom Maloney, 1957-1962
  • Betty Skipp’s younger sister, by three years, died the week of March 13, 2022.
  • Jon Scull is now living at Morning Star.
  • Jeff & Debbie Davies and family on the death of Jeff’s father, Rich Davies, who died on Sunday, March 20th.
  • Former Office Manager, Judith King fell and broke her knee cap, the Caring Ministry is assisting her with transportation needs.

Congratulations, Good Luck, Blessings, and Thanks to:

  • Parents, Lauren Hinkle, Dan Tillberg, and little, big sister Ramona welcomed baby girl Margo Hinkberg last month.
  • Fred and I saw Jennifer Skiendzielewski, and partner Teri out walking, building up Teri’s strength. Teri had a big smile on her face as we pulled over to chat from the car!
  • Janet Luongo, visiting her friend Janet Salmons, shared that “like, Kay Doggett, who began her chalice lighting about moving to Boulder, I am considering leaving my UU Congregation in Westport to be closer to my son and family in Arvada. I am feeling joy as I am with them now, and sorrow that we are not together more. The answer of whether we move, and what we give up, and what we gain is…”under construction.”

Random Thoughts:

  • Sunday, March 20th, we greeted at both the 9 & 11 am services, so it was true joy to hear the laughs and giggles from down the hall.
  • Sophie Hughes was “teaching” our young children who were also so happy to be together!

My cousin Ann Merwin died, March 18, 2022 of cancer, in AZ at age 83. We were fourteen cousins on my mother’s side and now we are eight. My mother’s mom, “Granny B.” lived to 104 — and sharp as could be. Of her eight children none made it to 100, but a few to their 90’s. I’m hopeful one of us cousins can get to 100, but the odds are not looking real good.

Love.Care.Hugs,
Barb
