We honor members.friends.visitors
Our thoughts and good wishes continue to be with:
- Please keep Will Kropp, Caitlin Moore & family in your thoughts. Will’s father, Myron, died Saturday, July 22nd in California. His mother is having a very hard time. They were married 58 years.
- Rosemary Lohndorf had surgery, July 26th, to help her avoid more cancer, your prayers are welcomed.
- John Cuddington’s 95 year old mother, Mary Cuddington, died peacefully in her sleep — July 16th in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. She lived a rich, wonderful life, and her time had come.
- Michael & Diana King shared that his brother died July 24. His wife had died, just one day before after a long illness. As a “caregiver” Michael’s brother had neglected his own health, and postponed a surgery that might have extended his life. Diana shared that this information might be of help to other caretakers.
- Di Mapes mother and stepfather both died the week of July 24th.
Congratulations, Good Luck, Blessings, and Thanks to:
- Ginny Wight celebrated her 97th birthday on July 19th. She loves cards & visitors. She is missing being in Maine, for the summer. That’s where the rest of her family is at the moment.
Random Thoughts: Special appreciation to at least three people who visit, or bring Senior members to church. Barbara Molfese brings LONG time member Bev Sears, former Office Administrator to church most Sunday’s. Bev enjoys being in the service, and especially coffee and chatting with old & new friends. Also Barbara recently checked in on Adrienne Hester who is doing well.
Both Beth Schmahl and Barbara visit Ginny Wight regularly. Carol Saunders has been in touch with Sally Rickert for years, and visits her often. “Nurse” Beth is really good at “checking in” after surgery or illness, via telephone. These are among the important things that our Caring Ministry does, and that is why it is important for you — to let them, or Moi, know about what is going on.
During special holidays, and other times of the year, our Caring Ministry prepare gift bags and deliver them to those members who we seldom see. It is enjoyable for us, as well as for the folks we deliver to.
There are so many ways to be involved at UUCB you just need to let Irene Kirschenbaum, our Membership Coordinator, know what you would like to do, or she would have suggestions. Also if you enjoy youth…we have a great group which Rachel Alba, our Director of Religious Education, can hook you up with.
