You may have read recently that the UUCB mailbox had been broken into in November and December. While originally assumed to be vandalism, our Treasurer Matt Ball discovered that some checks to UUCB were stolen and deposited, including some pledge checks. In some cases, checks were stolen but not deposited.
We’ve established an email account where you can alert us if you think your mailed pledge check was not received and deposited by UUCB. Email us at fraud@uuchurchofboulder.org which is monitored by Janet Evans, Board Trustee along with Matt Ball, Treasurer & Steve Todd, Board President, Rev. David and Sam Henderson.
We’ve started contacting members and friends individually that we think may have had their checks stolen. Please help us by looking at any November and December pledge payments that you may have mailed to the UUCB Pennsylvania street address. You can crosscheck receipt by the church in your Breeze account or on your annual giving statement (available soon).
If your check was stolen and deposited elsewhere, then you would need to initiate a fraud claim with your financial institution. If your check was stolen and not deposited, then you would need to initiate a cancel check process. Do keep us in the loop via the new fraud email account fraud@uuchurchofboulder.org
These recent thefts are heartbreaking. Please know that we are taking extensive steps to prevent future theft. With grateful thanks for your assistance.
