We use many names to talk about "spiritual experience" -- peak experience, a sense of aliveness, encounter with the holy, a feeling of the sacred, experiencing the world as it is, meeting God -- but no names quite get at what that experience really is. The words we use to speak about it aren't the same as what the experience is: our maps are not the territory.

This congregation is one big community, but it's also a collection of lots and lots of smaller communities. We explore what that looks and feels like, and what it means to take sustenance in being co-creators of this place.

At the center of our lives, we work to embody and live into a hope which is neither naive nor cynical. On this Sunday before we vote on the next steps for our church building, we especially embrace hope!
