9:00am Service – Eclipsed by Wonder

Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder

The experience of seeing a total solar eclipse, like the one earlier this week, is an entrypoint to wonder and amazement. For the religious naturalist, scientific understanding goes hand in hand with embodied awe.

9:00am Service – Earth Day: Love Letters to the Future

Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder

Ecologist Baba Dioum said, "In the end we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught." This Earth Day we join congregations across our Pacific Western Region in reading -- and writing -- love letters to the future. What do you want to tell the generations ahead? What do you want to remind yourself of in the year to come about your deep love for the earth? In doing this work, we begin by imagining a hopeful, just, and thriving future – a future we are in love and relationship with – and then we set a path to work for it. Our 9:00am service on the same theme will be for all ages.

9:00am Service – Fascism Begins at Home

Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder

History doesn't repeat, but it does instruct. The obvious and iconic signs of tyranny like book burnings and mass violence may keep us from recognizing the early warning signs that we should be paying attention to.
